Even with over 250 new students at Horace Mann Monday... everyone had a successful day. The 2014 school year is off to a great start. To our incoming 6th graders and new 7th and 8th graders: Welcome to the Mighty Trojan Family. To those returning for another year of learning... Welcome home. Now lets GET TO WORK!!!
HMMS Now Using Tablets in Social Studies Classes

In case you didn't notice the groups of students walking through the halls this week, we had some very special guests in our building. Students from various elementray schools visited Horace Mann Middle School to see for themselves all of the great things that are going on in our school on a daily basis. The students heard a presentation and witnessed fantastic performances by our very own Marching Trojans, cheerleaders, flaggettes and Starlight Dancers. The students then went on a walking tour of the school. A great morning was had by all students.

Horace Mann had it's annual spelling bee today. Over thirty students entered the contest. When it all was said and done, we had our winner. Congratulations Peterson!

Today Horace Mann Middle School rewarded select students for their passing scores on the interim assessment. If you missed it, students enjoyed the ice cream and our very own Mr. Maycock showed his Bubble walk skills.
iPrep Math class of to a Great Start.

Beginning in the fall of the 2013-2014 school year, an estimated 11,760 students will be served through the 49 iPrep Math middle school learning centers each year. Each middle school will have the opportunity to implement at least one iPrep Math learning center to serve 240 students in grades 6, 7, and 8. Students will work in groups of 60 with a team of three teachers in an adaptive, technologically-rich, highly-engaging learning environment. Horace Mann Middle School will be one these schools.
